These mowers can mulch or side discharge the trimmings .But you’ll need to check how easy it s to switch modes on the mower. Some models may need attachments for this. 4. How much is the turning circle and how uncomplicated the controls are. How simply the bag can be removed and How you can store it. 6. Horsepower, additional attachments and maintenance requirements are some more factors that affect the cost and competence of a mower to great extent. 7. You should also see mowing area of the mower. Usually a deck that cuts a few feet or say 30 to 40 inches at a time will be enough for most of the lawns. 8. The horsepower will determine the efficiency of the mower even on wet grass so more horsepower means better mower, but it’ll add to the cost. 9. If there are lots of trees in your yard then you should look for mulching function and bag so that there are no leaves on your yard when you finish mowing. 10 You should also check maneuverability of the mower, how well it can turn and move around trees and flower beds. There’s no purpose in buying a heavy machine which you can’t drive properly. The shape and size of your lawn also matters here. 11. If your lawn has ups and downs i.e. the place is hilly then you should go for a mower with small front wheels and large rear wheels so that you can ride without any difficulty. For plain lands you can choose one with same wheels for front and rear. 12. A riding mower of 48” to 52” will be the best option if you have large lawn on rolling hills. Also see if you want the one which can turn 180 degrees or you can do away with those which move only in straight lines. All these features will affect your budget and your lawn as well.
